The Dolomites, the most spectacular mountains in the world, are
a section of the Italian Alps. Their name derives from the
famous French mineralogist Déodat Gratet de Dolomieu (1750
-1801) who was the first to describe the rock, Dolomite, a form
of limestone which is responsible for the characteristic shapes
of these great mountains. We are very
