Description

Sometimes it’s the little personal stories that make a place truly special. That’s why, in today’s edition of our #myexcelsior Sunday News, we’d like to introduce you to someone who fills the Excelsior with life, warmth and personality every single day: Giulia Call.

In our little Sunday chat, she tells us about her favourite places and small moments of happiness, what genuine hospitality means to her, the most beautiful sides of the Dolomites – and, of course, her walks with our hotel dog Luna.

What is your favourite place at the resort to take a moment and unwind?
My favourite place to take a little breather is the Stella Lounge. It’s where we love spending time together as a family over lunch or dinner, with our dog Luna by our side.

What moment in your everyday life at the hotel never fails to make you smile?
When our guests return from an active day in the Dolomites with a smile on their faces and have a little time for a friendly chat at reception.

What does hospitality mean to you personally?
Making our guests feel welcome and at home from the very first moment – with genuine warmth, an open ear, and time for personal conversations.

Which place around San Vigilio is especially close to your heart?
Pares Peak – it’s my home mountain, and of course I climb it several times every year whenever I can.

Where does your favourite walk with our hotel dog Luna take you?
Definitely towards “Tres La Val” – a beautiful walk through the forest and along the river. Luna especially loves it because it feels like everyone there knows her and stops to say hello.

Coffee in the morning or an aperitif in the evening?
An aperitif in the evening – preferably with Mum and Luna at our bar, where we can relax together at the end of the working day and occasionally try a new cocktail.

Summer in the mountains or winter in the snow?
Winter in the snow is definitely my favourite – and with our ski-in & ski-out location, it’s a luxury I love making the most of myself.

Your latest discovery on the wine list?
The wines from Elfenberg Winery in San Vigilio di Marebbe – the very first winery in our village. Roberto creates truly distinctive wines that you simply have to try during a stay with us.

What was your favourite hiding place as a child?
Under the staircase in the Castello di Dolasilla – the perfect place to hide from my homework.

How did you help out at the resort when you were a child?
Even as a child, I was always involved in the kids’ entertainment programme and pretty much every hotel activity – right in the middle of it all.

What makes the Excelsior unique to you?
For me, it’s the people in our #myexcelsiorteam. I grew up with many of them; they’ve been by my side through every stage of my life, and to this day, we still have an incredible amount of fun working together.

We hope today’s Sunday chat has helped you get to know Giulia a little better – and perhaps you’ve even discovered a new favourite place or two for your next stay with us.
